Welcome!
Hi there, my name is Julia Collver and I am a fine artist. I am an alumni of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (EUP), and I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Art. My journey began when I was very young, probably on the day I chose my left hand over my right in honing fine motor skills to learn to write my name. Before that day, I scribbled using both hands, and since then my ambidexterity/bilateral thinking keeps me fluid with everyday movements and heightens my curiosity. Making art, be it with sound, nature, or art supplies, is something I’ve always been interested in doing, both as an individual or part of a team. I won the genetic lottery and got the artist wiring from both sides of my family. To add to it, the most creative of teachers and mentors saw to it that my artistic nature be nurtured. Because of them, art gives my life meaning, and I offer my own creations here to share that meaning and bring or restore it to as many people as I can in my time on this planet.
Focusing on art that asks or demands a human response is my lifelong initiative and passion. Art helps us explore our emotions and connections with one another, and so I create to remind myself and you of our humanity. I am exploring watercolor and oil painting for the foreseeable future, but I do not limit myself in material or subject matter. Paper, ceramics, fiber, and other craft mediums seep into my creative processes, and when they’re ripe they will be ready for you to pick from here!
My intentions are to create art to show how I appreciate the world around me, and how I cope in this elaborate existence. Upcoming Newsletters, projects and other informative bits will be posted here and on my social media platforms. Please enjoy exploring my website, and if you feel compelled, please support my vision and collect originals and prints, or write to me! I would love to hear from you. Thank you.
